Tesla raises prices of Cybertrucks in the US
Tesla raised two Cybertruck trims by $5,000 each as the line runs at about 10% of planned capacity, while the Cyberbeast price stayed unchanged.
- On Monday, Tesla updated its online configurator, raising prices on two Cybertruck trims by $5,000 each. The Dual Motor AWD climbed to $74,990 from $69,990, while the Premium AWD increased to $84,990 from $79,990.
- Running its Gigafactory Texas line at roughly 10% of planned capacity, Tesla has been throttling production to manage approximately 3,000 trucks in inventory amid weak consumer demand. The automaker built the facility for up to 250,000 units annually but currently sells less than 20,000 per year.
- This increase follows earlier pricing volatility, including a February offer of a $59,990 dual-motor variant Tesla told buyers was "only for the next 10 days" before pulling it. The price swing from $60,000 to $75,000 on the same vehicle illustrates difficulty finding sustainable market equilibrium.
- Internal corporate purchases provided significant support in Q4 2025, when Musk-controlled entities registered 1,339 of the 7,071 Cybertrucks sold. Without these sales, total registrations would have fallen 51% year-over-year, underscoring reliance on internal demand.
- Ford canceled the Lightning after lower sales, though it sold more units than the Cybertruck has managed. With no specification changes, The Cyberbeast remains at $99,990, narrowing the Premium-to-Cyberbeast gap from $20,000 to $15,000.
