- FareShare and Trussell warn food banks brace for tough winter as FareShare expects to distribute more than 40 million meals and Trussell shows over 14 million people, including 3.8 million children, face hunger.
- Shoppers can pick up pre-packed donation bags that typically cost between 2.00 and 4.00, containing most-needed items like cereal, oats, and tinned beans, to support the Winter Food Collection.
- Since 2012, Tesco has donated the equivalent of more than 300 million meals through FareShare, distributor to over 8,000 charities across the UK.
- Tesco UK CEO Ashwin Prasad urged Tesco customers to donate as more families than ever are expected to need help this winter, while charities warn foodbanks will hand out emergency parcels frequently.
