Tens of thousands of residents in the IJmond region were left without water for several hours Saturday morning after a large transport pipeline near Wijk aan Zee ruptured, NOS reports. Water overflow occurred in the rural areas of Heemskerk and Wijk aan Zee, flooding several cycling and walking paths.
A water transport pipeline has burst near Wijk aan Zee. This was reported by the Kennemerland Safety Region. Water company PWN speaks of a 'major water outage'.
Many people in the area are experiencing flooding due to a possible rupture in a water pipe near Wijk aan Zee. "In the rural areas, water is flowing onto bicycle and walking paths," according to the Kennemerland Safety Region. "Other locations, including Bloemendaal, Driehuis, Velsen, and IJmuiden, have no or very low water pressure."
