Tennessee Football Unveils Smokey Grey Uniform for 2026 Honoring Neyland
On Thursday, the Tennessee Volunteers unveiled their 2026 Adidas Smokey Grey uniforms, honoring iconic head coach General Robert Neyland through design elements reflecting his military service and coaching legacy.
These uniforms mark the 100th anniversary of Neyland's first season coaching the Volunteers, during which the Hall of Fame coach compiled a 173-31-12 record and won four national titles.
The uniform features Neyland-specific details, including a leather-style helmet with a Brigadier General star, 1948 stadium blueprints on the shoulders, and a collar perforation referencing his call to "charge the checkerboards."
For the first time since 1963, the helmet excludes the "T" logo; the team debuts these uniforms on October 3 against Auburn, with merchandise available starting September 1.
Marking the fifth version of Smokey Grey uniforms, this is the first designed by Adidas, building on previous iterations that honored the "Volunteer Spirit," state flag, and Condredge Holloway.
