Ten years after ‘catastrophic failure,’ locals return to the international motorcycle drag race scene
Meeks qualified for elimination rounds and reached more than 202 mph before falling to top competitor Nate Gagnon in two summer events.
Dana Meeks returned to National Hot Rod Association competition this summer after a ten-year hiatus, competing at Mission Raceway Park in British Columbia with his crew.
Crew member Chris Wilson spent eight years rebuilding the motorcycle after a catastrophic engine failure, with Greg Lovell and owners Rich and Marianne Eveland completing the restoration over two years.
At the September 25–27 West Coast Outlaws event, Meeks faced Nate Gagnon and finished with a time of 7.22, demonstrating the technical precision required in Top Fuel Harley racing.
Meeks noted the team now feels confident managing the machine, saying "e're just at that point where we really feel like we have a handle on this." Coordinated efforts between races prove essential.
The next season begins in May 2027, with the team planning testing at Pacific Raceways beforehand. Meeks seeks additional seat time to improve comfort managing the bike at high speeds.
