Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, announced that they will establish a maritime "no-go zone" in and around the Persian Gulf in response to the US blockade and sanctions. Rezaei also stated that their operational approach towards US warships and military bases in the region has been fundamentally changed.
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council announced in a message: "Economic warfare will be responded to by creating a maritime no-go zone throughout the Persian Gulf up to the blockade zone."
Tehran would impose new shipping restrictions in the Persian Gulf while targeting US warships with advanced missiles.
