- It is unclear what prompted the shooting Sunday evening at an apartment in the 1300 block of Pasadena Street, where the victim lived, and Aly Mejia said the suspect and the victim likely knew each other.
- Pomona Police and Los Angeles County Fire responded about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, found the teen with a gunshot wound, and he died at the scene, video footage shows multiple police units.
- Officials urged the public to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS ; the suspect is in a juvenile facility, Mejia said.
- It remains unclear who owned the gun, and other people in the apartment were present when police received a call at 5:22 p.m., potentially providing witnesses.
