Woman, 18, dies after injuries from 'unauthorised control' of loading vehicle in Essex
Police say two youths were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after an 18-year-old girl died from injuries in the park incident.
An 18-year-old girl died after being seriously injured in a vehicle incident at Chalkwell Park on Saturday, June 13, Essex Police confirmed yesterday. She was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since passed away.
Police were called to the Chalkwell Park area around 12:30am on that Saturday after reports that a group of people had taken unauthorised control of a small articulated loading vehicle. Officers and paramedics attended promptly.
An 18-year-old man from Westcliff and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Both remain on bail until September as inquiries continue.
Essex Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV, dash cam, or other footage to come forward. Reporters should quote incident 39 of June 13 when submitting information.
