Senna Agius Completes 2027 MotoGP Grid with Tech3 Deal
The 20-year-old Australian joins Luca Marini in Tech3’s new lineup as MotoGP shifts to an 850cc era with five rookies.
On Wednesday, Tech3 KTM confirmed the signing of Moto2 contender Senna Agius for the 2027 MotoGP season. The Sydney-born racer completes the team's 2027 rider line-up alongside Luca Marini.
Agius, a 20-year-old Moto2 race winner, joins four other rookies on the 2027 grid including Nicolo Bulega, Dani Holgado, David Alonso, and Izan Guevara. The season marks the sport's new 850cc and Pirelli era.
Tech3 CEO Guenther Steiner said Agius "has shown impressive speed and maturity." Expressing gratitude, Agius stated, "So many years of hard work have gone into this moment, and I'm incredibly grateful to Guenther and everyone at Tech3."
With Jack Miller leaving for WorldSBK, Agius becomes the only home rider for next year's inaugural Adelaide event. He replaces outgoing riders including Miller and Maverick Vinales as the team transitions its roster.
Tech3 Team Manager Nicolas Goyon emphasized the new regulations provide an opportunity to build from the beginning. While Agius trails teammate Manuel Gonzalez with 232.5 points in the standings, the team remains focused on his development.
Senna Agius becomes a MotoGP driver in 2027! The Australian climbs up with Tech3, which the team announced on Wednesday morning. The starting field for 2027 is therefore complete.
