Meta, the American group that owns Facebook and Instagram, announced on Friday that it will no longer allow political advertising on its platforms in European Union countries. The decision, which will be implemented starting in October, was made based on "impossible to enforce" Brussels rules, AFP reported, quoted by News.ro.
The meta-group wants to abolish political advertising on its platforms in the EU. As a reason, it calls an EU regulation.
The reason was legal uncertainty due to the new rules of the European Union.
