Chemistry Teacher Guilty of Indecent Assault with Two Male Pupils
Jurors found the former chemistry teacher guilty after hearing she had sexual relationships with two pupils and made the classroom sexually charged.
On Thursday, a Harrow Crown Court jury found 65-year-old Sally-Anne Bowen guilty of seven counts of indecent assault against two teenage pupils from the late 1980s, following six hours and 29 minutes of deliberations.
Bowen taught chemistry at Christ's College in Finchley, London, while in her mid-20s, assaulting boys aged 14 to 15; during trial, she claimed the accusations were a "total fabrication."
One complainant told jurors he had sex with the teacher "about 20 or 30 times" over several months, while a second complainant said he was "goaded" into kissing Bowen in a café.
Former pupil Tobias Oliver testified Bowen was "very flirtatious" and acted like she was in "a Sabrina Carpenter video," adding she turned a "sex manual" discussion into the "focus of the lesson."
Bowen, of Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, was granted bail following the verdict, with sentencing scheduled for November 20 to determine consequences of the historic indecent assaults.
