Disney+ advanced the final two episodes of Taylor Swift's docuseries to Dec. 23 to avoid holiday disruption, calling it an early gift to fans worldwide, Disney said.
- On Thursday, Disney+ announced it moved episodes five and six of Taylor Swift's six-part The End of an Era to Dec. 23 at 12 a.m. PT, advancing the finale from Dec. 26 by three days.
- The streamer said moving the finale up avoids a very late Christmas-night midnight PT/3 a.m. ET drop that would have distracted many Swifties and framed the shift as `an early gift to fans around the world`.
- In a Dec. 18 teaser, GMA showed previews of episodes three and four with Sabrina Carpenter backstage and Swift discussing quick-changes and staging.
- Reactions to the early episodes showed strong fan and press enthusiasm, with Variety praising the first two episodes as entertaining and emotional after the Dec. 12 Disney+ debut.
