Taylor Swift to Perform at 2026 Academy Museum Gala
The black-tie fundraiser will honor John Carpenter, Colman Domingo and Charlize Theron while supporting the museum’s exhibitions, screenings and educational programs.
- On Thursday, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures announced Taylor Swift will perform at the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala on October 17 in Los Angeles, closing an evening honoring three filmmakers.
- The star-studded event serves as a major fundraiser for the Academy Museum, recognizing Charlize Theron with the Icon Award, Colman Domingo with the Vantage Award, and filmmaker John Carpenter with the Luminary Award.
- Swift's performance coincides with Oscar buzz surrounding "I Knew It, I Knew You," the original song she wrote for Pixar's Toy Story 5, marking her growing involvement in filmmaking.
- In conjunction with the celebration, Carpenter will host a four-night series of screenings, including his 1978 horror classic "Halloween," supporting the museum's new large-scale exhibition, "The Horror Show."
- The gala, co-chaired by Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg, and Kate Capshaw, attracts Hollywood figures ahead of awards season, with proceeds supporting the museum's exhibitions, educational programming, and film preservation work.
