- On Tuesday, Simon & Schuster announced it will publish How to Not Die in Prison, co-written with ex-prisoner Tom Nelson, on June 23, 2026.
- Taylor Sheridan, an Oscar-nominated writer and Yellowstone co-creator, chose to write about life behind bars out of morbid curiosity, researching prison politics and dangers and seeking firsthand input despite never being to prison.
