Tax assistance centers closed in Bangor and Augusta

With a little more than a month until federal tax returns are due, two federal offices that had offered in-person tax assistance to residents of northern and eastern Maine are closed. It’s unclear how long the Bangor and Augusta Taxpayer Assistance Centers have been closed, though the Bangor location was open for the 2025 filing season.
