Work has finished on the $260m John Magufuli Bridge in Tanzania. The 3.2km structure connects the towns of Busisi and Kigongo across the Mwanza Gulf in the southern coast of Lake Victoria. The bridge has a total length of 4.7km, including a 520m low-pylon cable-stayed section, making it the longest in East Africa.
