Tan Da (1889 - 1939), real name Nguyen Khac Hieu, was a famous Vietnamese poet, writer and playwright. His hometown was Khe Thuong, Bat Bat District, Son Tay Province (now Ba Vi District, Hanoi). The pen name Tan Da was a combination of the names of Tan Vien Mountain and Da River. He came from a noble family with a tradition of mandarin examinations, with many generations of ancestors serving as mandarins under the Le Dynasty.
