Madison County Water Department Schedules Temporary Outage on Tuesday

TAMPA, JUL 21 – The Tampa Water Department advises boiling water for safety as crews repair a main break causing lane closure and impacting local businesses and residents.

  • Starting today, July 21, 2025, the outside northbound lane of South 50th Street is closed to traffic between South 20th Avenue and South 24th Avenue for repairs by the Tampa Water Department.
  • The water main break prompted a precautionary water advisory, as sampling and testing by the Regional District of North Okanagan occur to ensure water safety.
  • The Tampa Water Department noted modifications to the work schedule might be necessary as repairs progress, and barricades and signs are in place to help direct traffic flow, with all work dependent on weather conditions.
  • The Tampa Water Department anticipates restoring normal traffic by 4 PM on Wednesday, July 23, while motorists receive a cautionary advisory.
  • When water service resumes, properties may experience reduced water pressure, discolouration or air in the lines. The Tampa Water Department has expressed its appreciation for the public’s patience.
