- Viduthalai Chiruthagal Katchi founder Thol Thirumavalavan will formally announce Saturday whether the party will support Joseph Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam to form Tamil Nadu government.
- Vijay's TVK won 108 seats in the 234-member Assembly on April 23, emerging as the single largest party but falling 10 seats short of the 118-seat majority required to form government.
- TVK leader Adhav Arjuna met Thirumavalavan seeking support, while VCK Legislature Party leader Vanniarasu indicated the party would demand a share in power, a condition Vijay was prepared to offer.
- After meeting outgoing Chief Minister M.K. Stalin yesterday, Thirumavalavan emphasized VCK remains part of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, while PMK founder Ramadoss urged the Governor to invite Vijay to form government.
- VCK stated it will 'emerge as a central force' despite marginalization efforts, though Thirumavalavan declined to discuss alternative coalition scenarios before consulting his core committee.
