Tame Impala Previews New Era With Latest Single, ‘End of Summer’
AUSTRALIA, JUL 24 – Tame Impala’s new single marks a shift to deeper dance and acid house influences and is their first release under Columbia Records, arriving after years of collaborations and film work.
- On July 25, 2025, Tame Impala unveiled the seven-minute track "End of Summer," which was released alongside a nearly ten-minute video created under the direction of Julian Klincewicz.
- This release comes after several months of Kevin Parker hinting at new material, including an unexpected performance as a DJ at Barcelona’s Nitsa Club and Instagram posts suggesting an upcoming album, following his sale of music rights to Sony Music in May 2024.
- 'End of Summer' features electronic and layered instrumentation inspired by 1989 acid house, marking a sound shift from previous Tame Impala albums like 2020's The Slow Rush.
- The lyrics feature the line "I waited until summer ended and then ran out of time," while Parker described the project in a press release as a "sort of future primitive rave act," indicating a shift in musical style.
- Tame Impala will support Justice on their Australian tour this December with DJ sets at each show, indicating active promotion of the new sound and forthcoming music.
