Take-Two Officially Files Federal Court Subpoenas to Hunt Down GTA VI Leakers
Take-Two seeks account records from Microsoft and Discord to identify the source of leaked GTA 6 gameplay clips, including data tied to 2026 activity.
- On Thursday, August 20, Take-Two filed subpoenas in the Southern District Court of New York targeting Microsoft and Discord to identify those responsible for spreading GTA 6 gameplay clips.
- Clips circulated under the alias "Cyberleek" include a manifesto criticizing "fake" DLC and digital pre-orders, though the entity appears to use leaks to promote a crypto currency meme coin.
- The company's petition demands "all user accounts that are/were members communicating with the Discord server" and seeks device identifiers like MachineGuid and MSA from Microsoft, plus associated OneDrive and Xbox accounts.
- Subpoenas target accounts communicating with the Odyssey public brand guild and the DarkViperAU editors server, requesting registration emails, phone numbers, and IP addresses from both platforms.
- Investigators have yet to uncover the identity of those responsible for the leaks, revealing new GTA 6 mechanics and features ahead of the November launch, while Rockstar Games has not commented.
