Leftist SYRIZA has reversed its decision to support former prime minister Alexis Tsipras’ newly launched Greek Left Alliance (ELAS), following an extraordinary party meeting on Saturday amid internal divisions and a leadership crisis.
The Central Committee of SYRIZA decided to return Pavlos Polakis to the ruling coalition, canceled the previous support and began electoral preparations.
The SYRIZA Central Committee, which met with the required quorum, reached a unanimous four-point decision, despite its cancellation yesterday (10/7) by the deputy secretary, Anastasia Sapouna.
