Syria’s interim president moves his brother out of a top post in a government reshuffle
The overhaul adds new ministers and provincial governors as critics question appointments close to the president.
Syria's interim leader reshuffled top government posts and removed his brother, Maher al-Sharaa, from a key position amid accusations of nepotism after the civil war.
Maher al-Sharaa had been the secretary-general to the presidency in Damascus before being replaced.
Abdul Rahman Badreddine al-Aama, former governor of Homs, was appointed as the new secretary-general to the presidency.
The interim leader also appointed new governors for several provinces and a new information minister, Khaled Zaarour.
President Ahmad Al-Sharaa issued executive decrees to strengthen the General Secretariat and key portfolios in the first reform of Syria's transitional government.
