On Sunday at exactly 4:07:46 PM, the block of ice on the market square in Harelbeke melted and the bicycle inside fell. It was an action by the city council to further promote the E3 Saxo Classic cycling race. The timing is almost symbolic, as the bike fell during the final stages of that other major spring classic, the In Flanders Fields from Middelkerke to Wevelgem.
