- The court found that Gröna Lund acted negligently by ordering newly manufactured support arms with insufficient documentation and failing to ensure work was done by a competent welder.
- A support arm on the Jetline's first car broke, causing the undercarriage to hit track joints and trigger violent braking as witnesses described the train jumping off the tracks and three people thrown from the coaster.
- The court also fined Göteborgs Mekaniska nearly $147,000 for improper welding and said the firm has since gone bankrupt; a second manufacturing company was acquitted, and Gröna Lund was ordered to pay unspecified damages to victims.
- Gröna Lund, which opened in 1883, is one of Sweden's most popular parks, and its 800-meter Jetline roller coaster opened in 1988, increasing scrutiny of the case.
