Sweden’s Neko Health raises $700 million ahead of US launch
The funding will support research and development as the company expands preventive scans and blood tests to the United States.
- On Wednesday, Stockholm-based Neko Health announced it raised $700 million in Series C funding to launch its first United States clinic in New York later this year.
- Co-Founded in 2018 by Spotify boss Daniel Ek and CEO Hjalmar Nilsonne, the company operates private clinics using AI and custom equipment to screen for skin cancer, heart disease, and other conditions.
- Lightspeed Venture Partners led the funding round, attracting backers including Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg and tennis player Maria Sharapova, with more than 350,000 people joining scan waitlists.
- Although Neko did not disclose its new valuation, unnamed sources cited by the Financial Times estimate it sits around $7 billion, while the firm has not provided American pricing details.
- The capital will fund research into technology Nilsonne said could "make prevention possible at scale," as the startup prepares to expand rapidly across the country after the New York launch.
