Suspects Identified, New Details Released in Chino Hills Kidnapping, Execution
Investigators say the men knew each other through work, and one suspect was killed while the other remains jailed without bail.
- On Wednesday, July 29, Shukur Aikebaer, 60, was kidnapped from his Chino Hills home in the 2100 block of Monteverde Drive by two Irvine men, Zhengfeng Bo, 67, and Jianquan Bo, 66, who authorities say staged a power outage to lure him outside before shooting and forcing him into a vehicle trunk.
- Authorities revealed Zhengfeng Bo and Aikebaer shared a prior working relationship that soured; court documents show a dispute over a $20 million Pasadena apartment complex, with Bo's attorney claiming Aikebaer served as a 'middleman' in the business relationship.
- Deputies spotted a Nissan with Oregon license plates speeding from the scene and pursued it about a mile to Wandering Ridge Drive, where Zhengfeng Bo exited, opened the trunk, and fired into it, striking Aikebaer inside.
- When deputies ordered occupants out of the vehicle, Jianquan Bo surrendered and was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center on murder and kidnapping charges, held without bail with a court appearance set for August 3 at the Rancho Cucamonga Courthouse.
- Homicide investigators executed a search warrant on Friday at the Crossover residence shared by the suspects in Irvine, recovering key evidence linked to the crime; the case will be forwarded to the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office for review and filing of charges.
