LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY, JUL 15 – Guy House targeted family members of his ex-girlfriend in a shooting rampage before a scheduled domestic violence hearing, killing two and injuring three, police said.
- On July 13, 2025, Guy House shot a Kentucky State Trooper during a traffic stop, then opened fire at Richmond Road Baptist Church, killing two women and wounding two men before officers fatally shot him.
- A deputy clerk said he was due in court Monday for a domestic violence hearing, after House made a degrading social media post less than a month earlier.
- The Kentucky State Trooper is in stable condition at a local hospital, Gov. Andy Beshear said.
- In response to the shooting, detectives from Coleman's office said they were ready to support local and state agencies, and wrote `Today, violence invaded the Lord’s House`.
- Gov. Andy Beshear supports a statewide red flag law and more gun locks, and Lexington Police Department officers who fired their guns have been placed on leave as the investigation continues.
