- At about 1pm, Emergency Medical Services responded after alarms, stabilised learners on-site with drips, and deployed seven ambulances, three transport vehicles, three rescue vehicles and a helicopter.
- Authorities said updates will be issued once investigations yield results, with all affected learners receiving treatment and no fatalities reported, according to the Eastern Cape Department of Health.
- This is the latest in a string of school-related food safety scares in the Eastern Cape since last year, with only one out of 712 schools holding required kitchen certification, the department says.
