Suspect in Berlin Pride attack shot dead during operation, police say
Authorities say the attack is being investigated as Islamist extremism, and police shot the suspect dead after a nearly 24-hour search.

- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called the incident "a heinous act" on Sunday and said "we are open and freedom-loving and we will preserve and defend that." Governing Mayor Kai Wegner termed it an "attack on our free and cosmopolitan society."
