For the much discussed Heumarkt construction project by investor Michael Tojner an environmental impact assessment (EIA) is now necessary, as the Federal Administrative Court judges, which speaks in its knowledge of "great negative impairments".
The discussion about the construction project of Wertinvest am Heumarkt in Vienna goes into the next round. In contrast to the opinion of the city and the investor Michael Tojner, the project apparently needs an environmental impact assessment (EIA). This is evident from the findings of the Federal Administrative Court (BVwG) that the APA is present and about which the "Kurier" first reported.
Because the Federal Administrative Court sees "great negative impairments of the UNESCO World Heritage, it has now surprisingly ordered an environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the Heumarkt project. In November 2024, the city had issued an EIA cancellation.
The project requires an environmental impact assessment due to the backup power generators that will be installed in the data center.
The Federal Administrative Court sees "great negative impairments" on the UNESCO World Heritage and orders an EIA. Why this is a setback for the tower project.
