OPP notices uptick in drivers failing to stop for school buses
OPP East Region have been receiving an increase in reports of cars failing to stop for school buses. The police put a notice about the calls on their Facebook on Oct. 30, however drivers in Eastern Ontario are still ignoring the flashing lights. Police Remind Drivers Passing Stopped Bus Is Illegal
Authorities in Oak Grove are reminding everyone on Wednesday morning that it is against the law to pass a school bus that is loading or unloading children. Oak Grove Police say it is a misdemeanor and is elevated to a class A misdemeanor for a second offense of passing a school bus while it’s loading or unloading children. Police say they will be out enforcing this law and remind drivers that it is hazardous and they will be cited.
