In the face of the deteriorating situation in Sudan, the United States and allied countries are intensifying their calls for urgent measures to protect civilians and facilitate humanitarian access.
The United States and a number of allied countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, called on Wednesday for "humanitarian breaks" in Sudan, saying they were "dismayed" by the deterioration of the situation in that country ravaged by war and famine.
