Students develop rocket engine powered by beeswax

A group of Kingston University in London engineering students have developed a rocket engine powered by an unusual but highly sustainable energy source—beeswax.

Eight students at Kingston University have created a new kind of rocket engine that runs on beeswax.

They spent over a year designing and testing it using special equipment at their campus. They say they chose beeswax because it’s renewable and better for the environment than traditional fuels. Kingston staff have praised the team’s innovation and hope the findings will inspire more sustainable aerospace fuels.
