Minnesota schools classify recent student walkouts protesting ICE as unexcused absences to protect instructional time and enforce compulsory attendance laws, officials said.

In the wake of disagreements involving ICE enforcement, high school walkouts returned with force. Students across the country participated, with Minnesota a focal point. Some praise the students.
