Unlike the collaborating JA21 and SGP, opposition parties CU and 50Plus see no reason to form an alliance in the budget negotiations. The parties state that they wish to conduct the talks with the cabinet independently.
50PLUS leader Jan Struijs is critical of the minority cabinet. According to him, it would be wiser "for the country" if the cabinet were to enter into a tolerance arrangement after all. "But for us, it is better to continue with a minority cabinet," he said ahead of a discussion on the budget.
