Vietnamese Agri Trade Mission to Iowa

  • Vietnam’s Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Do Duc Duy, led a delegation of nearly 50 agribusiness agencies to the U.S. From June 1 to 7, 2025, visiting Iowa, Ohio, and Washington D.C.
  • This visit followed growing bilateral engagement, including a large U.S. Agribusiness delegation to Hanoi in September 2024 marking the Vietnam-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership anniversary.
  • The delegation sought to enhance bilateral trade by identifying additional avenues for Vietnam to increase imports of U.S. Agrifood and timber products, including animal feed, fertilizers, meat, seafood, and raw timber.
  • Since 2020, companies in Vietnam's agricultural sector have entered into 18 agreements valued at 6 billion USD to import American agricultural products, with half of these deals already underway and all exporter registrations up to date without any pending issues.
  • The visit underscores efforts to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, improve supply chains, and address concerns over new reciprocal tariffs that may raise U.S. Food prices and disrupt trade.
