Arkansas State Police Make Multiple Arrests, Rescue Multiple Victims as Part of National Child Exploitation Investigation
ARKANSAS, JUL 7 – Arkansas State Police arrested 82 fugitives during April and May operations, rescuing 14 children and submitting 51 cases for prosecution, officials said.
- On July 8, the Arkansas State Police announced the successful conclusion of two operations aimed at combatting online child exploitation within the state.
- These joint operations, Operation Safe Online Summer in April and Operation Cookie Crumbs from May 1 to May 16, focused on investigating child exploitation with support from federal and local agencies.
- The SOS initiative concentrated on investigating the distribution of child sexual exploitation content, apprehending perpetrators, and enhancing community prevention through public awareness campaigns, while Operation Cookie Crumbs focused on monitoring offenders’ online activity and performing compliance checks.
- Operation SOS opened 76 investigations, made 54 arrests including 4 hands-on offenders, rescued 13 children, identified 24 new victims, executed 86 search warrants, and examined over 248 devices with 13 terabytes of data analyzed.
- Operation Cookie Crumbs opened 20 investigations, made 28 arrests including one hands-on offender, rescued one victim, identified two new victims, submitted 12 cases for prosecution, and analyzed 70 devices with over 5 terabytes of data.
