'Stop using it immediately': Boots issues warning to shoppers over safety risk
Shoppers are told to stop using affected units immediately and claim a refund or replacement after a lithium-ion battery overheating risk.
Simple is recalling batches of its Skin Micellar Cleansing Water in 200ml, 400ml, and 730ml sizes due to potential bacterial contamination that could cause eye inflammation for consumers.
The potential presence of bacteria in affected batches prompted the recall, as the contamination carries risk of eye inflammation for some consumers using the product.
Affected batches include 200ml batch codes 610041, 611641, and 615941; 400ml codes 611141, 611341, and 611441; and 730ml code 616741, sold between January 2, 2025, and September 3, 2026.
Retailers including Tesco, Asda, and Superdrug are offering full refunds; a spokesman said "Stop using it and contact our Consumer Careline by email for further guidance and a refund."
Unilever's Consumer Careline remains available via phone 0800 146 252 or 1800 604 060 to process refunds and identify affected batches for affected consumers.
