Human-worked stone artifacts have been discovered at the Arkutsoy Paleolithic site in Bostanlyk district. According to preliminary estimates, the layer in which they were discovered was formed 320-280 thousand years ago, and if the dates are confirmed, Arkutsoy may become the oldest archaeological site in Uzbekistan.
