The Superior Court of Justice (STJ) must decide on Thursday (6) whether or not Minister Marco Buzzi should be punished for harassment and sexual harassment against two women, in addition to injury. Judge will not be entitled to compulsory retirement, as decided by the STF and CNJ. He was unanimously convicted by the STJ due to two episodes of sexual offences against a young woman and a former cabinet official.
After a session of almost five hours, the 28 members of the court have agreed to punish the 68-year-old judge, temporarily removed from office since last February, but have disagreed on the penalty.
This is the first time that a high authority of Brazilian Justice is punished with loss of office for serious violations in office.
