Alaska Lawmakers Override 2 Dunleavy Vetoes, Restoring $50M in Education Funding

ALASKA, AUG 2 – The Legislature restored $50 million in education funding after a 45-14 override vote, resolving budget uncertainty for schools and clarifying tax collection rules.

Lawmakers adjourned a joint session without considering any of Dunleavy’s other recent vetoes, including of school maintenance and construction funding and other bills that passed with bipartisan support.
