There are 1,100 people on a waitlist for affordable housing in Timmins with the Cochrane District Services Board, but the city has averaged about 23 housing starts a year for the last five years. The total waiting list (as of the end of March 2025) for affordable housing in the Cochrane District is over 2,100. A previous version did not mention the total waitlist for the City of Timmins alone.
