Steelers Trade for Michael Pittman Jr., Sign Jamel Dean and Rico Dowdle, Reports Say

On Monday, the Indianapolis Colts re-signed wide receiver Alec Pierce to a four-year, $114M contract minutes after the legal tampering window opened, with $60 million fully guaranteed, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.
The Colts placed a transition tag on Daniel Jones, which left Alec Pierce free to explore offers as teams monitored him and negotiations could go down to Monday.
Pierce, 25, posted a career-best 1,003 yards in 2025 and has consistent long-yardage production, totaling 157 catches, 2,934 yards, and 17 touchdowns across four seasons.

The Patriots had considered Pierce as a younger playmaker after releasing Stefon Diggs, and analysts' $27 million–$30 million projections for Pierce will influence other teams' pursuit strategies.
