Tata Steel could receive as much as 10.8 billion euros in subsidies by 2045, instead of the planned 2 billion euros discussed in the coalition agreement with the Ministry of Economic Affairs. This is revealed in research by Milieudefensie and SOMO. In that study, they stack multiple direct and indirect subsidies; ‘it is a worst-case scenario,’ says Milieudefensie campaign strategist Nine de Pater on BNR Zakendoen.
