State plans to reduce school spending, taxes by closing every public school

MONTPELIER- Gov. Scot Phillips has announced a new plan to reduce school spending in Vermont, calling on the Legislature to pass a bill that would close all public schools in Vermont. “People want property tax relief,” said Phillips at a presser on Tuesday, April 1.  “What would offer more relief than closing all of our public schools. That will save taxpayers billions of dollars.”
