State pensioners warned over £4,300 DWP payment change

The Department for Work and Pensions launched a fresh drive amid Pension Credit Week of Action as hundreds of thousands of pensioners miss out on an average of £83 weekly.
Call 0300 200 3300 where lines are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm; Carer's Allowance requires more than 35 hours weekly and can add £46.40 per week in certain cases.
HMRC noted that the Department for Work and Pensions will notify them about state pension starts, but pensioners must report Carer's Allowance changes to HMRC and state pensioners who are carers may access Pension Credit.
Research published October 30 found Scotland has the highest Pension Credit uptake at 67%, with regional variation—Glasgow 79%, Orkney Islands 44%, Aberdeenshire 49%—and about a third of eligible Scots remain unclaimed.
