Stars and Stripes on Sunday will attempt to be the second Bill Mott trainee to win at Oaklawn Park after running in a Jan. 16 allowance at Gulfstream Park. Batten Downs's stablemate, Stars and Stripes, finished second in the allowance route at Gulfstream and should go favored in a competitive eighth race Sunday at Oaklawn. The second-level allowance is for 4-year-olds and up and will be run over 1 1/8 miles.
