Starbucks to Debut New Air-Whipped Coffee Drink on Tuesday
The drink uses Blonde Espresso and ice and will be offered in regular and caramel flavors, with 1,500 stores expected to be retrofitted by Sept. 30.
On Tuesday, Sept. 29, Starbucks launches the Aerocano across North America to celebrate National Coffee Day, transforming Starbucks Blonde Espresso and ice into a velvety, aerated beverage.
The Aerocano debuted earlier this year in South Korea, where iced Americanos are a daily staple, prompting Starbucks to adjust steam times and pouring methods for the signature cascading effect.
"The visuals have show-stopping power," said Chanda Beppu, senior vice president of Starbucks Asia Pacific, highlighting how the drink's appearance showcases barista craft as the espresso settles.
Alongside the new coffee, Starbucks is releasing three mini pies on Tuesday: Apple Crumble Mini Pie, Pecan Mini Pie, and Pumpkin Mini Pie, featuring buttery streusel and warm fall spices.
While expanding the menu, Starbucks expects 1,500 stores to be retrofitted by Sept. 30, and is proceeding with a 2nd wave of North American store closings affecting 250 locations this week.
