Star Wars & Avengers Are Getting an Immersive Upgrade Fans Won’t See Coming
- Meta hosted its annual Connect event on Wednesday, unveiling new Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses and updated Meta VR Glasses. The product launches signal the company's expanding focus on AI-integrated wearables for social connectivity and productivity.
- Addressing privacy concerns regarding wearable cameras, Meta launched Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses without cameras. These frames feature open-ear audio designed for 'true all-day wearability' and six microphones that cut over 90% of background noise.
- The new Meta VR Glasses feature a 5K micro-OLED 'Infinite Display' supporting Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The device weighs about as much as a deck of cards and uses a clip-on 'puck' for computing, enabling virtual hand-tracking controls.
- Meta also expanded its Muse agentic AI assistant, which now integrates with major retailers including Walmart, Best Buy, and Sephora. The assistant can perform shopping tasks and price tracking, with features coming to AI glasses in the coming months.
- While the new Audio glasses start at $349, Meta VR Glasses will launch in spring 2027 for $1,299.99. The company also teased 'Muse Charm,' a Tamagotchi-like device for its agentic AI, positioning it as a future wearable companion.
